Boris' Japanese Doom Metal Classics 'Absolutego' And 'Amplifier Worship' Go Vinyl & Digital From Third Man

Japanese Doom Metal band Boris has announced digital and physical reissues of 1996's Absolutego and 1998's Amplifier Worship, both due November 13, 2020 via Third Man Records. This marks first time that either of these titles will be available on streaming services.

The song "Huge" from Amplifier Worship has been released digitally as a teaser:

Boris · Huge

Limited edition colored vinyl (blood moon opaque red for Absolutego, treefrog lime green for Amplifier Worship) will be available at select indie stores and TMR storefronts on release day.

Formed in 1992, the band Boris explores the possibilities of Heavy music, focusing on complete soundscapes, and using lighting and smoke in concerts.

Absolutego was originally released in 1996 and its reissue will be officially remastered to include updated album art and full “one long song” spread across one and a half LPs, with 1997 recording “Dronevil 2” filling out side D of the second LP, all fitting in a neatly packaged single-pocket LP jacket pressed at Third Man Pressing. This will also serve as Absolutego’s  debut across digital streaming services.

Amplifier Worship was first released in 1998, and its reissue (as well as its first-ever remaster) will include minimalistic album art inspired by the first-press Japanese CD. The Stoughton gatefold jacket will house both officially remastered LPs, pressed at Third Man Pressing. This will also serve as Amplifier Worship’s debut across digital streaming services.
