Cult Cabaret Goes Gold With Max Raabe And The Palast Orchester's MTV Unplugged

Max Raabe and his Palast Orchester have had remarkable success with the release of their MTV Unplugged album, featuring cult cabaret music. It was recorded live as part of MTV's acoustic showcase series, and ever since the album's release last November, it's been making charts.

The album has now gone Gold with sales of over 100,000, and while it's available in a number of formats, including CD, DVD, and Blu-ray, we're proud to offer it on vinyl in our shop.

Dr. Clemens Trautmann, President Deutsche Grammophon, explains:

“Max Raabe creates music from the emotions we all experience. You can’t help smiling when you hear him sing because you recognise yourself in his lyrics. His inimitable style comes through on MTV Unplugged too – Max is always Max. Together with the Palast Orchester and an impressive array of guest artists he’s put his own unforgettable and very personal stamp on this legendary format. My congratulations to all involved in this wonderful achievement, and my thanks to our partners at MTV, Starwatch and Airforce1."

Guests featured on the album include Herbert Grönemeyer, Mr Lordi, Samy Deluxe, Namika, LEA, Lars Eidinger, Pawel Popolski , and Achim Hagemann.

Max Raabe has also recently released a single and video, “Ich bleib zu Haus”, from Deutsche Grammophon. The new track presents Keno Hybro’s remix of the Raabe-Samy Deluxe duet version of “Der perfekte Moment”.
