Datarock Break Into Industrial Dance Sounds With 'Digital Life' As An "Act Of Resistance"

Datarock are back with a new semi-industrial electronic single “Digital Life” out now via YAP Records.

The song is designed to offer "a brief escape", inciting dance for fans despite the chaos in the world. “Digital Life” references the effects of Aleksander Kogan's FaceBook app, This Is Your Digital Life.

Frontman Fredrik Saroea shares:

“For the ones who don't care about lyrics “Digital Life” is the sound of laughing in the face of darkness & desperately trying to enjoy ourselves in the darkest of moments; joy as an act of resistance…”

Originally planning a tour to celebrate its 15th anniversary, the Norwegian Post-punk Art rockers have just released a special digital reissue of their breakout debut album Datarock Datarock which comes alongside a collection of bonus tracks including remixes by DEVO, Princess Superstar and Miami Horror.

It also features two original songs not heard since 2005: "Maybelline" and "Nightflight to Uranus".

The band has also just released new animations and a 15-minute Datarock Datarock documentary, created by Morten Vee, which takes fans behind the scenes and into the 2005 debut.
