Paul Weller's Soul Album 'On Sunset' Is Electronic, Orchestral, and Pop

The new album On Sunset is now available from Tower Records and features ten "classic yet modern" Paul Weller songs with a Soul album feel.

We also get some electronic and orchestral elements with plenty of Pop thrown in in this release that takes Weller back to Polydor Records for the first time in a long while.

The single and video for "On Sunset" have been released, shot before lockdown by director Martin Kovalenko.

Weller did some "multi-tasking" on the album by playing various instruments with accompaniment from his regular band, including Ben Gordelier and Andy Crofts, as well as Steve Cradock.

Guests on the album also include Slade’s Jim Lea on violin, Col3trane, Mick Talbot, Julie Gros from the band Le Superhomard, and The Strype’s guitarist Josh McClorey, and several more.

Written and recorded at Black Barn Studios in Surrey, On Sunset was produced by Jan “Stan” Kybert and Paul himself with help from Charles Rees.

As well as digitally, the album is being released on CD, Deluxe CD (includes extra tracks), double gatefold vinyl, colored vinyl and "good old-school cassette".
