The thing that is most unique about this album is that as the lyrics evolve from a meloncholy resignation of a life without love to a place where the question 'could it be' is considered to the place where love can be realized the music itself eveolves from a singular voice jazz/pop sound to by the middle of the album on it is a pop/rock album with layers of electric guitars and harmonies. The songs that are on this album were written over a 25 year period and one was actually written during the making of the album. We recorded the basic piano/drum/scratch vocal track for the whole album first and then the producer Doug Davis took over and along with a few musicians for hire arranged and molded most of what you hear. This was done for the most part sequencially so that when we got to the middle of the album it just started to feel right to have layers of guitars and harmonies. Finding Karon Click was what really completed the picture. While I would never compare myself or my songs to Burt Bacharach I would say in finding Karon to sing these songs I can understand how he felt when he found Dionne Warwick and in thier case I feel like Karon is the perfect voice for my songs. There were a number of very talented musicians who played on this album but if I had to pick one person to describe as the fourth wheel that made this trip possible it would have to be the spot on drum tracks from Corky McClennan who provided the backbone for this album. Hope you enjoy.
