UK pressing of this magnificent, previously unreleased English Psychedelic Pop concept album from the leader of Angel Pavement, originally recorded in 1969. The album is based on the classic children's story the Wind in the Willows, which also inspired Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd. In 1969, Angel Pavement linchpin Shepherd took time out from the group's hectic schedule to demo a concept album that he'd written around his favorite childhood story. Sadly Angel Pavement broke up before they'd had a chance to record the work, which was duly left to gather dust. 40 years later, Alfie's homemade recording of the proposed album finally gains a long-overdue release. Taken from the original mastertapes, and bolstered by a clutch of similarly unissued home demos from the same timeframe, Wooden Hill. 2008.
