Nu Soul Stories is the eagerly awaited follow-up to the award winning Nu Soul Stew by Angel Rissoff ("Harlem Hit Parade", "Boogie Down Bronx", "I Want a Love I Can See", "Jitterbop"). Nu Soul Stories is graced by the presence of three Rock& Roll Hall of Famers: the amazing voice of Darlene Love is heard on the duet "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". Joining Angel on their song "You Better Run" are two original members of the Young Rascals, Eddie Brigati and Gene Cornish. Gene's guitar work adds a fresh take on their classic tune. Phil Granito of the Duprees sings a duet with Angel on a song they wrote together called "Every Man". Guitar legend John Tropea adds his immaculate groove to two songs, Uptown Horns and Cracked Ice founder and leader Crispin Cioe adds his own brand of saxophone excitement, once again Seth Glassman shares the producing and arranging, plays bass and has co-written several songs. Many top musicians have played on this mixture of Blues, Classic R&B, and Soul: Tony Beard (Johnny Winter, Judy Collins)- Drums George Naha (Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett) - Guitars Rosie Glassman (Lesley Gore, Darlene Love) - Drums and Percussion Jon Burr (Tony Bennett, Stephane Grappelli) - Upright Bass Tim Oumette (Ray Charles, Four Tops) - Trumpet and Trombone Larry Etkin (Rolling Stones, James Brown) - Trumpet Frank Vilardi (Bacon Brothers, Suzanne Vega) - Drums and Percussion Fonda Feingold (Cracked Ice) - Piano Andy Burton (Ian Hunter, Rufus Wainright) - Piano and Organ It will be right at home with Blues afficionados, Beach Music fans, and lovers of Classic Soul and R & B. This is a mixture of original compositions and covers that will make you laugh, cry, jump up and dance!!!!
