Latest Press Release: Ape Machine has teamed up with Ikey Owens of the Mars Volta and Free Moral Agents to produce a new record for 2011. This collaboration of unorthodox rock n' rollers set out to expand the boundaries of modern music with a combo of heavy tones and heartfelt soul. Owens has done a string of productions in recent years in addition to his role as keyboardist for the Mars Volta and Free Moral Agents. Owens brought out the soul in the layered gospel-harmony filled spastic rock of Dusty Rhodes & The River Band in their release "First You Live". He also produced the beautifully powerful and vocal driven album by Chase Frank - "Smile Trials". This will be the second record for Ape Machine in as many years. The band has maintained a constant and demanding schedule of touring, writing, and touring some more. The hard work has served to focus and sharpen the band, and while they continue to pay homage to their not-so-standard blues-rock roots, the upcoming release will pack newly-formed fusions with prog and some "what-the-fuck-are-they-doing?". All the while keeping your head bobbing and connecting the pain in your Root Chakra to your balls and your broken heart. Be on the lookout for the new release and a supporting tour by the gorillas with vintage amplifiers. Bio: Blending equal parts Rock n' Roll, Blues, Stoner Rock and Psychedelia, Ape Machine is out to melt faces and pound the apathy out of otherwise jaded listeners with a wall of heavy rock n' roll tones unheard since the days of bell bottoms, long hair and blaring tube amplifiers. The name Ape Machine, is a nod to the days of reel-to-reel recording, and captures the heady mix of animal aggression and technical precision in the music. The band set forth with a mission that includes intense melody, cutting riffs and a steady diet of live improvisation that separates the men from the boys. Where many bands rely on meticulously rehearsed, just-like-the-record-parts, Ape Machine provides an experience that is as unique as each evening it shares with an audience. Molten countenance, decibel therapy!
