Equal to the likes of Gus Viseur, Tony Murena, or Jo Privat, Marcel Azzola is one of the undisputed masters of the "squeeze box." His prodigious international career- both as a soloist or accompanying such stars as Yves Montand, Jacques Brel, or Juliette Greco- has earned him a place in our hearts and memories. Here Dany Lallemand brings together sixty titles from the first compositions by this accordion master, along with standards recorded between 1951 and 1962. All these are bravura pieces filled with a virtuosity and sensitivity that are a delight to hear.
