Reza Najfar comes from an artistically adept family in Tehran. After studying flute and composition in his home country, he continued his flute studies in Utrecht/Holland and in Vienna/ Austria. He studied composition in his homeland with Morteza Hannaneh, Mehran Rohani and Farid Omran and in Austria at the Academy of Music in Vienna with Thomas Christian David and Dieter Schermann. During his studies he was engaged as the principal flutist of the Theater Orchestra of Vienna for three years. Currently he is active as flute professor at the Mozarteum Salzburg's Innsbruck's branch, the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium Innsbruck and at the Prayner Conservatory in Vienna Austria.
