UK seven inch vinyl pressing. ‘This Heart Is Lonely' by Rose Batiste is another major tape find that has re-written Northern Soul History. It was issued in a different form on Solid Hit a year later but this is its original incarnation. Of even more importance it is the original of the instrumental classic 'The Bari Track' which came out as by Donni Burdick two years later. That was a misnomer, it was actually the studio musicians who worked at Pied Piper, Golden World and Motown, better known as the Funk Brothers. Rose sings the song as perfectly as on 'I Miss My Baby' and you can just catch that lyric in the latter part of the song. The flip is Mikki Farrow's sublime Karate release 'Could It Be'.
