Bill Steely has been writing songs since he was a teenager, growing up in Levittown, Pennsylvania. His musical tastes were formed going to the folk festivals around Philadelphia, arena concerts, and from listening to the records of Patsy Cline, Glenn Campbell, Bob Dylan and Al Stewart in the late 1960's and 70's. Growing up with 3 siblings in a steel town suburb of Philadelphia gave him a unique filter through which he sees things today. After arriving in New York in 1984, he formed several bands and played venues such as Speakeasy, the Bitter End and CBGB. But it wasn't until 2005 that he put out his first self-produced record, followed quickly by 2 more. 'If I had one wish for the music, it would be to connect with as many people as possible, and hopefully give them something enjoyable, something that rings true.'
