Bionic Boogie was a studio group put together by hit producer Greg Diamond, this is the 1977 self titled release. Featuring the flute-like soprano Ullanda McCullough, heard frequently on records and on stage with Ashford & Simpson; the tough, tangy Gwen Guthrie, already an in-demand session singer and a hit songwriter herself ("Supernatural Thing;" "This Time I'll Be Sweeter"), and Zachary Sanders, whose raucous, deft shouting sparked hits for Change and Quincy Jones as well as the signature dance floor classics "Risky Changes" and "Chains, both of whose rare extended versions have been unearthed for these Funkytown Groove expanded reissues.
