Artist: Dave Tarras
Title: Freilach in Hi-Fi: Jewish Wedding Dances 2

Arguably the most famous 20th century klezmer musician, Dave Tarras was a virtuoso clarinetist and one of the few klezmer musicians to assimilate American music without losing the traditional soul of klezmer music. Mr. Tarras' style fused the music he had learned as a child growing up in the Ukraine with the popular songs and jazz he was exposed to in New York, where he became one of the top instrumentalists in the Yiddish theater in the 1920's and 1930's, and eventually had his own radio show on various New York stations that lasted well into the 1950's. Presented here, for the first time in the digital domain, is "Freilach in Hi-Fi," a series of albums Dave Tarras made with the Murray Lehrer ensemble which also featured Lou Levin on trumpet. Presented here is Volume 2, originally released in 1957. All selections newly remastered.
