Most people think of Debbie Reynolds (1932-2016) as the star of "Singin' In the Rain", "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" and other classic M-G-M musical films. She was all of that but she also was a major recording star. By the time she was 25, she had two million sellers "Aba Daba Honeymoon" and "Tammy". Both of those are included in this singles collection, but the main purpose of this CD is to reissue her singles that were only available as 45s. While Debbie did do some novelties, the bulk of her singles were good quality songs as you will hear on this excellent collection. The singles from her years at M-G-M and Coral Records include standouts like "A Very Special Love", "Hillside In Scotland", "I Saw A Country Boy", "It Started With A Kiss" and "Faces There Are Fairer". These are fine recordings and her records have never gotten the attention they deserve - something Jasmine hope to remedy here. Debbie Reynolds was one of the true legends of Hollywood. She kept performing almost until the very end. "Singin' In The Rain" has made her immortal and hopefully this collection will also help to enrich her legacy.
