Dennis Victor Allen is a singer/songwriter from Canada's far north. Before his thirteenth birthday, he could sing at least one song from such artists as Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, and George Jones. Growing up in the tough frontier town of Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Dennis learned that playing guitar and singing Eagle's songs got you into parties and out of scuffs, or into one, depending on the circumstance. His teenage friends introduced him to Jackson Brown and the Rolling Stones. His older brother introduced him to Kris Kristofferson. At one point he could sing every Kris song ever published. Then he heard the blues; Lightnin' Sam Hopkins, Sonny Boy Williamson, and the duo of Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee. Throw all that music in a pot and stew it for twenty years and you got the sound of Dennis Victor Allen, bastard son of C&W, long lost brother of the blues.
