Diablo's Horns are: Tim Stambaugh- sousaphone and all arrangements, Dave James- guitar and lead vocals, Cale Pellick- drums and accordion, Kevin Clark- trumpet and vocals, Jason Mingledorff- tenor and bari saxes and vocals, Charlie Halloran- trombone and vocals on tracks 2,3,4,5,6,8,10, Colin Meyer- trombone and vocals on tracks1,7,9. Bios: DAVE JAMES, an unsung hero of new orleans bands, steps up as a crazed front man on guitar and lead vocals for the diablos. He is the consumate sideman in groups like gal holiday and dirty mouth. JASON MINGLEDORFF, best known for his blazing tenor, also doubles on bari, clarinet and vocals. Folks around these parts know him for his work in papa grows funk and the nightcrawlers. KEVIN CLARK plays a mean lead trumpet as well as funky solos. Best known as the leader of the dukes of dixieland, he also plays in the nightcrawlers and on countless recording sessions. CHARLIE HALLORAN, bone master, comes to us from bands such as the squirrel nut zippers and meschiya lake . CALE PELLICK lays down the groove on drums and percussion. He adds to our world beat vibe by gettin down on accordion with equal skill. TIM STAMBAUGH holds down the bottom on the sousaphone and arranges the music. His original music and shows are inspired by a reckless youth spent on a three ring circus. As a kid growing up in the 60's and 70's, nothing got my blood boilng more than a band loaded with funky horns. This album is dedicated to that spirit. 12.21.12 is our party anthem for the apocolypse. We all know a guy like 'The Legend'. I Ain't Got None is all about an average day for us here in Nawlins. Mi Machete is a point of view song about the hot and cold relationship we have with our post Katrina mexican friends. Many thanks to Fredy Omar for making this banda syle tune come alive. Did you ever notice how TV preachers latch on to current issues but always seem to put their own spin on it? That's Rev. Dave on Save The Whales. We also threw in some 70's classics from Brooklyn's answer to the Meters- Mandrill. Enjoy!
