DR. FREDERICK L. HEMKE Charles Deering McCormick Professor of Teaching Excellence, Louis and Elsie Snydacker Eckstein Professor of Music, Bienen School of Music, Northwestern University, Evanston, Il. Dr. Hemke holds the Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin, Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Wisconsin. Student of the eminent teacher Marcel Mule, he is the first American to win a Premier Prix in Saxophone from the Paris Conservatoire de Musique. Two CDs, Simple Gifts with organ and The American Saxophonist for with piano are available through EnF records. He is consultant to the Rico Corp., the Conn-Selmer Corp. And the Southern Music Co. Dr. Hemke is internationally recognized as an adjudicator, master teacher, and concert soloist. His students teach/ perform in major positions throughout the world.
