Gail has performed as a solo artist for the last 25 years in New England's coffeehouses, clubs, festivals, museums, and schools. For many years she brought folk music to a whole new generation as a music specialist in pre-schools, and as both a substitute music teacher and teacher's aide in public schools. Gail plays Appalachian dulcimer and guitar. She teaches dulcimer, both privately and in workshops at various festivals in the Northeast. Gail has released four solo recordings - 'Just in Time', 'Farther Along', 'Full Circle', and 'Heart of a Believer' (her latest recording, released early in 2012) featuring musicians such as Johnny Cunningham, Tim and Mollie O'Brien, Brooks Williams, Robin Batteau, Aoife O'Donovan, Jake Armerding, and Heidi Muller. Her a cappella group Taproot released two CD's, 'If You Build It' and 'Grand Design'. Christine Lavin introduced Gail to an international audience by including her version of the Anne Dodson song, 'Lie Easy' on the Rounder Records compilation 'When October Goes'. Gail has shared the stage with Odetta, Pete Seeger, Tom Rush, Nanci Griffith, Garnet Rogers, Chris Smither, Richard Shindell, and David Massengill. An article about Gail entitled 'Troubadour to Her Community' - originally published in the Boston Globe in January, 1988 - can be found in 'Deep Community: Adventures in the Modern Folk Underground' by Scott Alarik.
