JACOB HEAL: Some people are born with a gift and never know it. Some people are born with a gift and start to utilize it at a very young age. Jacob Heal is an example of the latter of these two scenarios and has burnt a deep trail into the landscape of a personal and lifelong musical journey which has finally come to a pinnacle. Astonishingly, at the ripe old age of 2 years old, New Hampshire native Jacob Heal started to use his gift by running up into the Gospel Choir during the services of his family's local Baptist Church. What transpired from this was a mysterious ability at a young age to sing on perfect pitch with a tone that surpassed those who were five times his age. At the age of 10, Jacob began a strong interest in Acting and Dance and started doing professional musical theater shows playing roles such as the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz and Jesus in Godspel to name a few. Receiving an almost full music and acting scholarship at the elite New Hampton Preparatory School, Jacob quickly grew into what is categorized in the entertainment industry as "a triple threat talent" and was spotted and scouted by many agents. The New Hampton School gave Heal a chance to work with directors such as the Academy Award winning screenwriter Ernest Thompson and film producer Morgan Murphy who has worked with artist such as Platinum Certified "Sevendust" where he produced award winning music videos that gained much respect and credibility on the MTV Networks. After an abrasive 4 year jaunt at seeding himself into many local music scenes around the country some including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Boston, Jacob decided to find his way back to New Hampshire to regroup with family and friends, but what he didn't know was that going back to his roots would catapult his singing career further than ever before. Patronized by friends, Jacob reluctantly entered into the local radio station WLNH's "New Hampshire Idol" contest where he quickly found himself in the final 10 after 3 rounds. "The Finals" of the contest were judged by Capitol Records A&R Rep/Producer/Songwriter Jimmy R. Landry who would pick the contestant with the most promising talent and bring that artist into his studio in New York City for a 2 song demo. What followed was an interesting scenario which ended up as a 2 song prize package turning into a full record development deal to Landry's Audiostrike Label in New York. "When Jacob hit the stage and opened his mouth to sing my jaw dropped" said Landry. "This is the kind of timeless voice that you can't teach someone... and to think he didn't even have a myspace page; it seemed like a great opportunity for both Jacob and I to build something on the ground level from three core elements: a great voice, a great performer, and a great person with a great story." Fast-forward to 2010: By combining Jacob's vocal gift and life story with Landry's producing, mixing, songwriting, instrumentation and A&R skills, the outcome is a 10 song album Created on Cakewalk's V-Studio 700 and SONAR software which is being slated by early industry ears and tastemakers as an independent commercially viable masterpiece surpassing the sonic quality of major label records on many levels. Mastered in Australia by one of the greatest mastering engineers of our time, Leon Zervos (Maroon 5, Avril Lavigne, Flyleaf) and with additional writing credits including Nina Ossoff (Daughtry), Mike Shimshack (Britney Spears), Sandy Fredrickson (Leann Rimes) and Kyle Kelso (Parachute), Jacob Heal's "Live Free or Die" is destined to be a record finding it's way into the ears of music fans worldwide in 2010.
