After learning his craft in the early 60's playing bass in groups in the Midlands with such names as Roy Wood (MOVE, ELO, WIZARD), Bev Bevan (MOVE, ELO), Greame Edge (MOODY BLUES) he went into recording, radio and television and even got a mention in the 'Pete Frames Family Tree Of Rock Book'. The 70's saw the formation of 'The Rockin Rockets' a nine piece Rock'n'roll show which successfully toured the college circuit and features four singers (Gerry Levene, Danny King, Mike Sheriden and Brenda Bosworth). Boss was formed in the mid 70's and was immediately signed to 'Deram Records' and had a minor hit with the old classic 'Mony Mony' In the 80's Jim moved to the county Scene spending four years as half of 'The Kenny Rowland's Duo' (Claiming Many Awards) and joined 'The Raymond Froggatt Band' to do 'The Tammy Wynette Tour 88'. In 92 'The Jim Onslow Experience' was born and after extensive touring at home and abroad joined the 'Roy Wood Tour 93' his first for many years which was followed by tours backing 'The Vernon Girls' 'Danny Williams', 'Tom O'Connor' and many more stars from years gone by. Jim having performed at most of the theatres, clubs and pubs in the British Isles and on the Continent and even such renowned places as 'The Royal Albert Hall' and 'Wembley Arena' can mould his show to suit his audience how ever large or small, old or young. Having his own studio facility enables Jim to produce his own backing tracks to the finest quality, his sound is the finest around and he can go from fun loving Rock'n'Roll to powerful Ballad with full orchestral backing at the turn of a button.
