John Scott Evans is acknowledged by many to be one of the finest fingerstyle guitarists in the country and is quickly becoming recognized as one of the rising stars of the guitar community. His artistry blends fingerstyle technique with a multitude of musical ingredients ranging from melodic pop to fiery flamenco and from lite jazz to heart warming gospel. John\'s unique touch on his instrument brings new life to the music world. His musical compositions speak to the heart and inspire the soul. John\'s guitar performances have shared the bill with an array of notable artists around the globe, including the legendary Chet Atkins. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, John was first introduced to the guitar at the age of 10 by his father, the late E.A. Evans, also an accomplished guitarist. John's studies continued as he later attended a variety of music schools including the prestigious Berklee College of Music. During this time, John performed throughout the southeast with his band, the John Scott Evans Band, that consisted of a stellar cast of worldclass musicians including Kansas violinist David Ragsdale. Since then, John has traveled throughout the world as a solo recording artist & guitar clinician. He has also worked as a sideman for a long list of internationally known artists including Billy Ray Cyrus, Mark Shultz, Corrinne May & Allen Levi. From acoustic to electric, his session playing can be heard on countless artists' recordings tracked at studios from Atlanta to Nashville to Los Angeles. Among John's TV credits include performances on major and local networks along with million viewer live TV broadcasts (CBS & Others) and live DVD projects . As a solo recording artist, John Scott Evans has released three timeless instrumental CD's. Their success has been noted across the Globe from the U.S. to Japan. John\'s third and latest album release, \'Above The Sun\', is a groundbreaking collection of original fingerstyle instrumentals and cover arrangements of Stevie Wonder's "Overjoyed" and Christopher Cross' "Sailing". The album was co-produced by Nashville producer/Grammy nominee, Brian Green and Mastered by Grammy Award winning engineer Robert Hadley at The Mastering Lab in Hollywood,CA.
