Kenny Burrell freely draws upon the blues and expands upon the guitar work of T-Bone Walker, Oscar Moore and the legendary Django Reinhardt. The remainder (except for the track "My Favorite Things," taken from a Chess Christmas album), are from a 1967 album, Ode to 52nd St., including the set's title track.
