Toronto ex-pat Kit Johnson has played extensively with some of Canada's finest roots, country and rock acts. Now in his 34th year making his living strictly from music Kit has worked with many international artists on stage and in the studio, including Chris de Burgh, David Wilcox, Murray McLauchlan and Big Sugar to name just a few. Along the way he has garnered numerous awards including a JUNO Award, SOCAN songwriting awards, Gold and Platinum records and a Betty Mitchell Award as part of the cast of Theatre Calgary's "FIRE" in 2004. Solid 'no-nonsense' bass playing has always been his forte though he is also an award winning songwriter, a record producer and a guitar player. Though he still sometimes tours with the likes of old pals David Wilcox and Murray McLauchlan these days Kit can most often be found producing or teaching in his new home, Calgary. "Pretty Lies" is Kit's first solo collection of songs.
