DUB MASTER X will be participating in the MIX!A special collaboration work between Japan's hybrid cumbia band 'MUMBIA y SUS CANDELOSOS' and Japan's world-renowned keyboard harmonica player Pianica Maeda. A full album has been completed following the 7inch EP released at the end of last year! MIX is another DUB artist that Japan is proud of, DUB MASTER X. Contains a total of 8 songs, including a cover of the famous cumbia song 'Cumbia Sobre El Mar'. The design, which is full of Japanese taste and chicha feeling, was created by Katsumi Tanaka, who is also the leader of the Minyo Crusaders. *Chicha: A psychedelic cumbia genre that developed independently in Peru in the 60s and 70s. It was born from the fusion of cumbia, indigenous music, and surf rock. [Background of the collaboration] The collaborationbegan when Pianica Maeda made a guest appearance when Minyo Crusaders appeared at the event 'Peter Barakan's LIVE MAGIC!' held in 2017. The story begins when Mutsumi Kobayashi, a member of the Minyo Crusaders and leader of MUMBIA y SUS CANDELOSOS, and Maeda Pianica meet again at Kunitachi Station. After several live sessions, they will begin producing the album, but their plans have been postponed many times due to the coronavirus pandemic. Even though it was difficult to maintain my enthusiasm, I persevered with the production and finally completed it after 3 years!Listen:https://open.
