You'll laugh, sing and even moo right along with us. Yes, moo! It's a gift you'll be delighted to share with children ages 4-12. And, watch it inspire their creativity! At the same time, it's also for the 10-year-old that is still inside of all of us. Grandparents say it reminds them of old time radio. Grab some cookies and enjoy the ultimate Road Trip CD! Are you ready to be a kid again? It's time for the Mayor of Storyville® - "Now THIS is FUN" Also, you'll see Inside the CD is an IDEA MAP. It's a Candyland type experience to show you graphically where my stories came from. Here are the stories behind the stories: Mayor's Theme-This is my alarm clock. It makes me grab my tie and suspenders to get the day started. Don't Let Those Chickens Run Away-When I was little, on my Grandpa's farm (in Arma, Kansas) we had an evil, one-eyed rooster. It would chase me around the barnyard and peck the back pockets on my jeans as I ran. I used to leave the gate open so I could escape, and was always warned, "Don't Let Those Chickens Run Away." The Loneliest Crayon-In first grade I was so shy nobody knew my name. During a game of Red Rover in gym class, the only two left were me and the kid who wore his pants inside-out to school. This story is dedicated to anyone who's ever been picked last in gym class. The Fish That Didn't Go to School-My Dad and Uncle Frank always took me on fishing trips. They gave me a candy bar and pop for breakfast once. It was great! We caught a lot of fish. My Mom asked what was the best part of the trip? I said, "Eating Mounds bars and Dr. Pepper for breakfast!" Then Mom yelled at my Dad. This story is dedicated to all teachers, fishermen, and moms and dads everywhere! Roompa Doompa-This is how most of my songs start out-me humming a melody or making noises marching around the kitchen. Try it yourself. You might be surprised to find a special song lurking somewhere inside of you! Kitty Delight-I had a sweet little kitty named "Stinky." Who was always trying to escape. One day, I left the door open and he got away. Each night I walked around the neighbor hood yelling, "Stinky! Stinky! Stinky!!" This song's dedicated to Stinky. Trembellona-My Nonna (Italian grandmother) used to sing all the time in the kitchen when she was baking biscotti. She was a little woman who always seemed a lot taller whenever she sang. Mouth Tap LIVE-My tap teacher always told me, "You've got to put more sole in your souls." Tap dancing is about making music with your feet, not noise. You can't tap dance in the car, but anyone can have fun Mouth Tapping! Give it a try! The Squirrel That Shared-My Nonno (Italian grandfather) was one of the smartest and most generous people I have ever known. And he fed a lot of squirrels. His last name was Buti, so in my story I named a squirrel "Buddy" in his honor. The limping squirrel is me. I used to sprain my ankles a lot. Peepalot-There's a little bird in all of us that tells us to keep trying just when you feel like quitting. One morning, when I felt like quitting, I wrote this story to cheer myself up. It's still one of my favorites. A Gorilla in Love-'Love you with all my might, though sometimes I hug too tight, but what did you expect from a gorilla in love." I think we've all been a gorilla in love at times. It's about a woman who falls in love with a gorilla, then wants to change him. Lots of luck with that! The Elf In Yourself-We all need to tune in to our inner Elf. That is the little guy inside of you who will always believe in you, no matter what. You've got magic inside of you. So keep trying. The Elf believes in you. And so do I! The Redheaded Rat-One day I was thinking . . . what would a rat be willing to do to get himself a beautiful head of hair? Answering that question gave me the story. Meep-Meep Moop-Moop-One warm summer night, as I sat down to tell my girls their bedtime story, the crickets outside were so loud that all I could think about were . . . The crickets! So I decided to sing along! Let the Music Stay-Some schools are canceling their music programs due to budget cuts. But what if the instruments said, "No"? School bands build confidence in students and create a "can do" attitude. With this little song I pray that all the music programs can be saved. Check out more Mayor of Storyville fun on YouTube.
