Title: Songs of a Midwestern Girl

Songs of a Midwestern Girl represents my musical influences and personal reflections of the last several years. I took a bit of a departure from the R&B and jazz styles of my ('Jasmine' days) to a more grass roots, Americana, pop, and country approach. Wanting to write the 'Annie' songs within a more traditional folk style fitting within a 19th century esthetic helped lead me in this direction. Michele Isam is a singer, saxophonist from St. Louis who has earned respect and affection from fans all over the country because of the great joy and enthusiasm she exudes when she performs. Michele has been performing in St. Louis and nationally for over 25 years. See my website for more information. After graduating from Webster College she co-founded the duo 'JASMINE' with CAROL SCHMIDT. Michele and Carol developed a unique and diverse style of original and cover songs.--compelling audiences to take notice. (In 2003 'JASMINE' performed to a sellout show at the SHELDON CONCERT HALL celebrating their re-release of 'JASMINE,' sixteen years since their last recordings or concert performances.) (Search 'Jasmine' also for the 'Jasmine' double CD.
