Description

Artist: Mozart / Langlamet
Title: Marie Pierre Langlamet Plays Mozart
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS

On this release, the listener will discover Mozart's piano concertos Nos 10, 12, and 13 played in a version for harp and string quartet. Being an intimate instrument, the harp feels more at home in this restricted company. Marie-Pierre Langlamet has been principal harpist for the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra since 1993. She studied harp in Nice with Elisabeth Fontan Binoche, and took her first steps on the international scene as a fifteen-year-old, by winning the Maria Korchinska Competition and one year later, the Concours de la Cite des Arts de la ville de Paris. At 17 she was appointed principal harpist of the Nice Orchestra, and at 20 she joined the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. American harpist Joan Rafaelle Kim began her musical education by taking piano and violin lessons at age four, then harp lessons at age nine. Since the age of ten she has been giving public performances and winning international prizes, including the Nippon International Harp Competition in Japan, "Godefroid" International Harp Competition in Belgium, and Awards from the American Harp Society.
