Progressive rock actually succeeds in settling in the most improbable places. Even in the country of cigar, salsa, BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB and Fidel CASTRO, a local scene exists ! Since the glorious SINTESIS in the Seventies, it seems that Naranja Mecanica has taken the leadership there. Led by the keyboardist-vocalist Alejandro DELLE VALLE, this Cuban outfit blends splendidly symphonies' that is dear to South-American musicians with the warmth of Spanish language, and the twirling sounds of flute. Jointly released by the Musea and Luna Negra labels, "1993-1995" unveils twelve lyrical and colorful tracks, sometimes tinted with folk-rock (Ala JETHRO TULL), sometimes with jazz-rock (Ala CAMEL). Acoustic instruments also take the big share: flute, acoustic guitar and percussions in foreground. An exotic trip indeed !
