Artist: Rachel Patterson
Title: Songs for Friends

"Her warm, fun and sultry style will have you swaying, smiling and singing along." She is a classically trained mezzo-soprano who now sings jazz, classical and pop. She's performed in shows, recitals, benefit concerts and ceremonies on three continents. She sings with a joy of the music and sensitivity to it's messages. Rachel's musical and personal background are eclectic. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, but grew up and has lived, worked and performed in Europe, the Middle-East and the Americas. She studied opera for eight years and now sings jazz, pop and gospel, as well as classical music. In addition to the songs Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and Billie Holliday made famous, you'll also hear some Edith Piaf, Neapolitan songs, and even some Mozart, Bach or Verdi. . Rachel has been singing and performing in the car, the family living room, at friends' gatherings, etc. Since about 4 years old. Since then, she has enjoyed listening to all types of music, studying and singing classical, jazz and pop, and organizing and performing in numerous shows, benefit concerts, weddings and other events. She's lived a global nomad life, so sometimes mixes up her metaphors, but loves to travel, explore and learn about new (and ancient) cultures. 'We were completely blown away by your beautiful voice and CD. As soon as we started to play it, we were immediately captivated.' - Lee and Richard Arellano, Llano Texas 'Classical and jazz! Stephen had no idea you were as good and multi-talented as I already knew. Our wedding ceremony was beautiful and seeing and hearing you made me calm.' Your voice is marvelous!' - Sandrine Chatrenet, Paris 'She has such a lovely, sultry voice, and style to boot!' - Linda Miller and Bill Richards, Charlottesville, VA 'I've been listening to the CD all day, while painting in my studio... I just love the music.' - Leonard Clark, Antigua Guatemala.
