Songs of the frontier, of work, love, and despair are presented here by Rosalie Sorrels, a dedicated folklorist and true Idaho icon. Some of the regional repertoire was passed on by locals from Boise to Burley; other tracks reflect the influence of phonograph records, and a few are derived from the poetry of Chaucer and the legendary Gene Autry. Hear about telephone linemen and railroad builders, cowboys and Mormons, train wrecks and six-shooters. Rosalie is accompanied by her husband, Jim Sorrels, on guitar. Liner notes include complete song lyrics with an introduction by Rosalie Sorrels.
