Sally Oldfield already had years of experience singing, adding numerous backing vocals to brother Mike Oldfield's works such as 'Ommadawn' and 'Tubular Bells'. On her debut album she puts in fantasy complete with a hidden theme throughout that resembles the "Lord of The Rings". There is something quite madrigal to her, she creates the spheres of the river maiden out of 'The Old Forest' from Tolkien's world, ethereal, almost Elvish. "Songs Of The Quendi", a song with four parts provides a rich tapestry of sounds with quotations of J.R.R. Tolkien. This music has the innocent charm of the dawning of a new-age, a mix of Middle Earth and old Norse images. The songs are bright, upbeat, sweet and romantic and full of pure aspirations.
