Sarah Burton has been making her mark on the Canadian live music scene since 2006. A true road-warrior, Burton has played hundreds of shows, covering a territory that spans from coast to coast in Canada and the U.S., wowing crowds with her energetic live show. Burton's debut EP, Love is for Pussies, was produced by Juno award-winner John Switzer and featured in the Lions Gate feature film, Cabin Fever 2. Burton's other past successes include having her song Then Run Away named 'Best Folk song' by Toronto Exclusive magazine in 2009, and being chosen to open for pop-starlett Kate Voegele (of the hit-series, One Tree Hill) at Toronto's Opera House in September 2009. Burton is currently promoting her brand-new full-length release, Mayflower, 'a country-dusted folk album of steel guitars and sweet sorrow' (Brad Wheeler, The Globe & Mail). Burton is also getting ready to release her first music video, for the new album's single, How Good You Are, thanks to a grant from Videofact. Sarah Burton is an exceptional folk artist with that little extra flare. (Lora Ngem, Soundline.ca) Burton's songs are well crafted, the lyrics are thought provoking and she refuses to settle for mere hooks or formula writing. (Joe Montague, rivettingriffs.com) Sarah is explosive in the manner in which she delivers her message with a multi-dimensional personal ity and a heavy foot to keep her grounded.
