There is no question that between 1942 and the early 1950s that Savannah Churchill was a major star within the African American audience of America. Sadly today though she is virtually forgotten. Savannah Churchill enjoyed several major hits: "Fat Meat is Good Meat", "Hurry!, Hurry!", "Daddy-Daddy", "Time Out For Tears", "I Want To Cry", "(It's No) Sin", "Shake A Hand" and one out and out undeniable classic in "I Want to be Loved (But Only by You)" all of which are included on this superb 2CD set from Jasmine. Also herein is her 1960 comeback album which includes a couple of re-cuts of her greatest hits. Includes vocal group accompaniment from The Four Tunes, The Sentimentalists, The Four Kings and more. Her legacy lives on with these fine recordings and thanks to Jasmine this new collection can help to re-establish her reputation as one of the great American singing stars of the 1940s
