This new release from the band continues their rootsy, twangy tradition, with the added south of the border flavor. The opening track, 'Outlaw', spins a tale of justice gone wrong. 'El Amor Es Ciego' is a twist on the West Side Story theme, set to mariachi horns in Mexico. 'Looking For Maria' is a Marty Robbins-ish tale of lost love. 'Standing In The Rain' is a twangy rocker that brings to mind Tom Petty. 'Light On You' has a classic gospel country feel. 'Come To Me' is a swamp rocker in the vein of Led Zep's 'When The Levee Breaks'. 'I Think It's Gonna Rain' is a throw back to the Philly sould sound of the Stylistics. 'You Got It Bad' and 'Livin' A Lie' are straight ahead rockers, while 'Long Way Down' is a moody, Door-sy piece. The CD ends with 'Cyril's Wine', a Bluegrass tune written while enjoying the glow that the title suggests. Take a generous serving of Gram Parsons, add a heap of Keith Richards, season with some Elvis Presley and a pinch of Hank Sr., blend it together with some real sounding guitars and vocals and you've got The Sin City Boys. They have been called 'Country Thrash' by Now Magazine, and were described as sounding like 'The Rolling Stones in a bad mood' by Lenny Stoute of The Toronto Star. Featuring songwriter and vocalist Kevin Jollimore and guitarist Gerard Popma, The Sin City Boys have received excellent reviews for their live show, 'They play a selection of strong, simple and effective songs that threaten to put the excitement back into barroom rock.' according to Performer Magazine.
