Based in Natchitoches, Louisiana, Steve Wells has been a working musician since 1974. His group, Steve Wells Music, plays a wide variety of styles and does a ton of weddings, but this project centers in on the 'Dixieland' style. After many years of playing together, Steve now presents some of his favorite music, featuring his friend, Jack Roberts. Jack Roberts of Shreveport, Louisiana, is a master musician and plays many instruments extremely well. His clarinet playing is the star of this show, however, and is simply amazing. Shreveport's Clyde McArty, one of the finest Dixieland trumpet players you'll ever hear, lends his talents and blends perfectly with Jack's clarinet. Most of these songs are Steve's own arrangements with some variation to make them sparkle, but preserving the tradition of this wonderful style. There's high energy here, with hot tunes like 'That's a Plenty' and 'I've Found a New Baby'. And, on the mellow side, you'll discover smooth approaches to 'Gone Fishin'', 'Sleepy Time' and 'New Orleans'. So, grab a big iced tea or a mint julep, enjoy the late summer evening on the back porch, and listen to 'Dixieland Treasures'!
