Ceiling Tiles is the new single from Portland, Oregon band Sun Atoms. Mixed by Jagz Kooner (Massive Attack, Primal Scream, Oasis, Garbage), the song, written around Peter Holmstrom's compelling baseline, follows a group of characters that animate to life off of a deck of tarot cards. The song is an amalgamation of new colors in psychedelic, dark wave, and post-modern pop. The song explores a dreamy netherworld peeling away under the heartbeat like a synthesized glove. It is a cautionary tale of a possible dystopian future, some of which is already materializing- right now before our eyes. We follow the characters of the song into a mirror where they live outside of the lines under a faux sky, only to find the planet itself is an eye, crying rain. Do they make it through the maze of plastic plants and security guards and get the message out in order to light up the world? Listen and keep an eye out for this first single on beautiful 180 gram Blue Cloudy 7" vinyl soon from Little Cloud Records with a digital download card. The full LP to follow later in Spring.
