Although the group was almost entirely the creation of a West Coast record company, the talent that fueled it wasn't manufactured. It was born and bred in Hawaii, and it centered around the singing brothers Naluai, led by Clayton Naluai who also played a mean standup bass. The brothers harmony vocals were impeccable and their records began to be quite popular among the California surfing community of the late 1950's. The Surfers paved the way for the surf-rock craze of the 1960's and their influence can be felt in the music of the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean. This classic album, recorded in 1959 is a fine representation of this classic group. Newly remastered.
