One of the great West Coast folk groups of the late 1950's and early sixties, The Coachmen's brand of mixing great songs with humorous skits, led other acts like the more famous Smothers Brothers in a new direction. Featuring multi-instrumentalist Doug Brown and founding members Don Koss and Doug Tanner, The Coachmen played on stages with the Kingston Trio, Smothers Brothers and other popular folk acts of the day at some of the most prestigious folk clubs in the US. Their classic 1960 album, "Subways of Boston," is featured here in it's entirety, and explains why they were so popular. All selections newly re-mastered.
