The Drinks are: James Burton Nick Carvajal Ryan Jacobs Cameron Jasper Tom Olson The Drinks are bringing their tightly rehearsed original and eclectic indie/pop party-time sound on tour to California dives and high class repper hangouts in 2005 in support of their self produced debut LP, 'Grrr!' on the illustrious Pure Greed Records label. All members sing and are multi-talented. The band is affiliated with the Voz Alta Project through their involvement with the Third Word open mic series for which they served as the house band for San Diego's socially conscious poetry scene from 2003-2005. Members of The Drinks have performed with the following groups: - Taco Shop Poets: Literary Chicano pioneers of poetry with music. - Rabbinical School Dropouts: Modern space klezmer ensemble with a release on John Zorn's 'Tzadik' label. - Skeleton Key Orchestra: Nate Hubbard's improvisational large ensemble. - Shea Stratton: Alt-rock singer/songwriter. - Perfektomat: Groove music and poetry led by Joscha Oetz. - Cappella Gloriana: Choral ensemble. - Animal 32 Experimental Rock Group.
