Title: Carolina Jamboree

The Red Clay Ramblers Carolina Jamboree Carolina Jamboree is a dance show originally conceived by choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbett and The Red Clay Ramblers in 2004, and commissioned for the Carolina Ballet of Raleigh, North Carolina, by Artistic Director Robert Weiss. The Carolina Ballet staged the show at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in February 2005, June 2008, and April 2013 (with an additional show at the Durham Performing Arts Center); the UNC Center for Public Television first broadcast it's filming of Carolina Jamboree in 2006. Of the most recent staging, the News & Observer wrote: 'Lynne Taylor-Corbett has created many fine pieces for the company but none more inventive and audience pleasing than Carolina Jamboree. Inspired by the music of the Triangle-based band Red Clay Ramblers, the three-part work exudes homespun sensibilities. . . . The finale has the entire company in a hoedown that builds to an exhilarating frenzy, sending the audience out beaming and breathless.' The Red Clay Ramblers dedicate this recording to Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Ricky Weiss, and the dancers, technical and production folks of the Carolina Ballet, all of whom have shown tireless inventiveness in making Carolina Jamboree into a unique ballet and such a special event.
