Artist: The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra
Title: Serenity
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS

Some of the most beautiful melodies that can be identified with Scotland are known as 'slow airs'. They evoke a huge range of emotions as they refer to human events, tragic and happy, or the drama of land and sea. With it's magnificent symphonic sound, hearing these works played by The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra is a uniquely uplifting, yet relaxing experience. Especially commissioned recordings were made in The Henry Wood Hall in Glasgow and The Usher Hall in Edinburgh, just so these works could be realised in all their glory and resonance. Under the batons of conductor John Mason, MBE and deputy Andrew McGarva, this album is probably one of the best ways to hear the poignant heartbeat of Scotland.
