Tim Morgan is an award winning songwriter and performer from Newport News, VA. This recording showcases twelve original songs and has received positive reviews. It features Morgan's deep vocals and tasty slide guitar work as well as Chicago style harmonica playing by Bob Albergotti. The rhythm section of Steve Meadows (drums) and Dave Holland (bass) is air tight. Four songs feature Billy Batte on keys. Charlie Austin adds some fiery fiddle work to the final cut. The sound ranges from Chicago style numbers like 'Going Home to my Baby' and 'Crazy 'bout my Baby', to the funky, James Brown inspired 'City Farm Blues', to a New Orleans, second line feel on 'Eat at Adalia's Kithcen'. The soul blues 'I Hold my Hand Out' is a stand out, while 'Marcia's Blues' has a dark, Muddy Waters vibe. 'I'm the Mojo Man' pays tribute to John Lee Hooker. With it's inspired fiddle work (think Jean Luc Pontey) 'Backroads' is like no other tune on the record. All members of the band work day jobs while maintaining a schedule of regional appearances. 'This record is a labor of love,' Morgan said in a recent interview. 'Every one of these songs reflect a part of who I am and the life that I have led'.
