Tseringcho was born in India to the Gyangzurtsang, a family of noble descent from Kutse in eastern Tibet. Her father, a former monk, taught her to chant when she was a young child. Her mother, who came from a long line of respected female Buddhist practitioners recognized as dakinis, taught her daughter to sing traditional Tibetan melodies. Educated at the University of Mysore, Tseringcho has lived in Singapore and the U.S. She serves as a host for distinguished lamas visiting the San Francisco Bay Area and is a singer/songwriter dedicated to sharing the ancient and sustaining Buddhist chanting tradition with a world audience. 'I feel fortunate to share these precious chants with you. They originated as early as the 1st century B.C. and have been preserved in their original form. Chants have a natural calming effect, instilling comfort and joy in those who listen. May they bring love and happiness to your life.' Recorded at Freehouse Music in Marin County, California.
