In 1968, he found a home in Dakar Records when a Texas DJ flipped his first release and started playing the b-side 'Can I Change My Mind'. The song went to #1 in the R&B charts and top 5 in US Billboard charts. This is his stunning 1969 debut album is reissued with original artwork and printed inner sleeve. Other album highlights include 'Knock On Wood', 'Slip Away', and 'Call On Me'. Rooted in earthy, rough-edged traditions of Memphis soul.
