The South Queens area of New York City includes the towns or Howard Beach, Ozone Park, Broad Channel and Rockaway Beach( made famous in the classic Ramones song by the same name). The area is rich in food, culture, opinions and art, and on October 29th 2012 The Superstorm known as Sandy changed the face of these communities forever. The musicians of the area lost their homes, cars, instruments...but not their soul. Into the Whip Records Jim Maguire and Walker Hornung (Q-South,Soca and The Brotherhood of the Grape) assembled the best and most well-loved bands of the area for a compilation C.D. representing the diverse sound that is South Queens...styles such as Alt-Rock,Punk,Metal,Soca and Folk are on this recording and show the true melting pot that is Queens. Into the Whip Records has been dedicated to bringing born and bred New York artists to the world stage. Originally a vehicle for Walker's now legendary soca duets that featured Machel Montano,Alison Hinds and Bunji Garlin...Into the Whip Records has become a musical garden for up and coming singer/songwriters. The compilation C.D. produced by Frank Persico at Persico Studio in Ozone Park features original material from all 4 of the towns mentioned above as well as bands from Ireland and The U.K. Take a trip through the sounds of South Queens and know that every dollar spent is going to help a family that is in need. 1) Hey Today by Walker and The Brotherhood of the Grape (Hornung) 2) Move On by Frank Persico (Persico) 3) A Song Like This by Ace in The Hole (Klinger) 4) Talk and Crawl by The Von Shakes (Brazel) 5) Sunshine by Walker and B.M.W.A (Hornung/Gilbert) 6) Who We Are by John Scarpulla (Scarpulla) 7) Let It Go by Joe Cang (Cang) 8) I'm Yours Right Now by Walker and The Brotherhood of the Grape (Hornung) 9) When Love Was Blind by Frank Persico (Persico) 10) Symptom's Walrus by Symptom 7 (Lennon/MCCartney) 11) I'm Down by Exit Verona (Exit Verona/Perri) 12) Virginia by Indaculture (Butler/Kadet) 13) And Then It Was Cold by John Simonelli (Simonelli) 14) Coastline by Mexican Museums (Misfeldt/Ruffino) 15) Big Time by Ron Zabrocki (Zabrocki) 16) Off We Go by Desmond Ivor and Dan Nice (Verdolino) 17) Prize by The Reign (Caravella/Flaxman) 18) Confess by Michael Benedetto (Benedetto) 19) I Think She Already Knows by Billy Kennedy with Maine Damage (Kennedy) 20) I've Lost Control by Unysynn (Victor) 21) Smile by Jon Clarke (Clarke)
