Produced in Paris by KEN STRINGFELLOW of The Posies & REM. Mastered at ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS in London. Voxmirage's debut album is a culmination of years of songwriting, recording and introspective self-loathing. Mixed & Produced by Ken Stringfellow of The Posies and REM, in Voxmirage's new album you'll find a labyrinthine of Beatlesque melodies and lush harmonies making this a must have album for the power pop aficionado. Voxmirage's new album is the debut songwriting and recordings of Mike Streng. Mike is a classically trained vocalist who early on sang tenor in a jazz octet and has even performed Italian opera. Mike began playing guitar at age 8 and as a Seattle native spent the better part of his life immersed in Seattle's rich music scene performing, writing and recording his craft. Mike's influences include Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Thompson Twins, Fleetwood Mac, Frank Zappa, Radiohead, Deep Purple, Steely Dan and Crosby Still & Nash, to name just a few. Aaron Nicholes is the other official member of the duo that makes up Voxmirage. Aaron has been in numerous Seattle based bands over the years including KUMA. Aaron studied Jazz composition and percussion for 6 years at the prestigious Cornish University where Aaron was mentored by the legendary Julian Preister. Aaron later collaborated with Steven White of KMFDM to record and release the debut album of Deathbed Repentance. In 2007 Aaron was nominated for best soundtrack of the year at the AVN awards where Aaron scored the complete soundtrack for the film Slick City staring Dita Von Tease. Aaron has since scored 3 more films and is an accomplished symphonic composer. Ken Stringfellow lends his vocal prowess in the harmonies on track 7 and Ken's prolific piano, synth skills and production virtuosity are strewn throughout. Track 3 offers a tasteful hint to the influences of Empire of the sun and the New Wave influences of Depeche Mode and Tears for Fears can easily be discovered throughout in the synth sonorousness. The obvious songwriting influence of Fleetwood Mac can surely be heard, but track 12's modern, Synth Pop rendition of Lindsey Buckingham's 80's hit, 'Go Insane' is an exciting homage to a living legend. A must have album for all Synth Pop and Indie music lovers.
