Reissue. Released in 2002, for some The Great Divide is a little too easy on the ears by Country Music standards. In truth this album might actually be one of the better collaboration albums Willie Nelson has ever done. The Great Divide contains three tracks co-written by Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20) and two tracks co-written by Bernie Taupin (writer for Elton John), duets with Lee Ann Womack, Brian McKnight, Kid Rock, Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow. All tracks ooze Nelson's raw yet gentle and soothing sound together with his band and at times an orchestra to back him up.
