Clarinetist Yasmin A. Flores has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician around the United States. She was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. In 2003, Flores received her Bachelor's of Music in Clarinet Performance from the West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, having studied with Professor Douglas Storey. In 2005, she received her Master's of Music in Multiple Winds from the Florida State University College of Music in Tallahassee, Florida. While in Tallahassee, Flores performed in several pit orchestras for musicals around the area and taught at Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. Later that year, Flores was granted a teaching assistantship in clarinet at the University of Iowa and began studying with Dr. Maurita Murphy Mead. In 2009, she received her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Clarinet Performance and Pedagogy. During her time in Iowa, Flores was active as an educator and performer, having taught clarinet for a brief period at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and performing with the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra, the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra, the Oskaloosa Symphony Orchestra, the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and the Sondheim Performing Arts Center. As a lover of new music, Flores has toured the Midwest with the Center for New Music at the University of Iowa and continues to premiere many new works by composers around the country. Flores is currently residing in El Paso, TX where she teaches privately and is looking forward to publishing her editions of three pieces by Gustav Adolph Heinze. Lev Ryabinin graduated with distinction as a pianist from the Kharkov Institute of Arts (Ukraine) in 1999. In 2000-2002 Ryabinin studied at the Israeli Music Academy of Tel-Aviv University and was granted a scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. He earned a Masters degree in Piano Performance at Roosevelt University in Chicago, where he was a full scholarship student, and is currently finishing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree program at the University of Iowa. He has worked as a collaborative pianist at the Interlochen Arts Camp, an accompanist and coach for Kids Acting Company in Austin and Chicago Opera Theater, and as a teaching assistant at the University of Iowa. His teachers include Viktor Makarov, Natalia Melnikova, Alexander Volkov, Solomon Mikowsky and Uriel Tsachor. In 2002, Ryabinin won First Prize in the Tel-Aviv Academy Competition. In 2007 he was a finalist of the Kankakee Piano Concerto Competition. He has also performed in Ukraine, Israel, Spain and the United States. Lev Ryabinin is currently the staff accompanist at Georgia College and State University.
