Emily Edrosa Talks Making Major Life Changes To Pursue Solo Work On Tower's Live Show

New Zealander Emily Edrosa usually lives in LA these days, but she joined us for Tower's Instagram Live show, hosted by Dani Pinkus, from an island in New Zealand, having recently finished two weeks of quarantine there and being released as Covid-free.

Her upcoming album Another Wave Is Coming, out November 20th from Park the Van, now has a title that she doesn't think she'll put on t-shirts due to the current global situation but could equally refer to her very eventful life. Edrosa shares some of the personal context behind her earlier life in New Zealand before she moved to LA, having a good job, a good house, a successful band, and a girlfriend, but feeling that something wasn't quite working for her. That she couldn't progress emotionally or creatively.

The wild idea that she needed to move to the USA to pursue a solo career slowly transformed her life, especially after she got selected from the "greencard lottery" to go to the States in a randomized way. What came after was a real exploration of self and musical possibilities for Edrosa.
